Business Development Representative
Help build smooth goods flows between Europe and the United Kingdom
Since Brexit, a truck without the correct customs documentation is a truck that stands still. We make sure that does not happen. Bongers Customs is a specialist in customs documentation and cross-border services between mainland Europe and the United Kingdom. Since our acquisition by Getlink, operator of the Channel Tunnel, we are part of an international group that plays a key role in European freight transport.
To accelerate our growth in the Netherlands, we are looking for a Business Development Representative who spots opportunities, opens doors, and helps customers do international business without hassle.
What will you do?
You are the face of Bongers Customs in the Netherlands. You visit customers, build relationships, and convince companies of our value. Your target group includes carriers, freight forwarders, logistics service providers, importers, and exporters trading between mainland Europe and the UK. You are responsible for the entire commercial process, from first contact to signed agreement.
In practice:
- Actively approach new customers and grow your own client portfolio
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers
- Identify commercial opportunities in the market
- Prepare, negotiate, and close quotations and agreements
- Collaborate with operations and customer service to serve clients optimally
- Represent Bongers Customs at trade fairs and events
Who are you?
- You have at least a higher professional education (HBO) level of thinking and working
- You have proven experience in sales
- You have a commercial mindset
- You are strong in communication and build trust easily
- You work independently, take initiative, and are often on the road
- You speak fluent Dutch and good English
- You have a driving license (category B)
Sales experience weighs more heavily than experience in the customs industry. A background in logistics, transport, or international trade is a plus.
